You can buy a trash can at Home Depot (that has a lid), or you can try calling Champion Services at their customer service number: 703-239-8540, but odds are theirs will cost more. The HOA does not pay for trash cans or recycling bins, it is the property and responsibility of the owner.
Check Champion Services holiday schedule. They generally don't pick up on:
A good rule of thumb is that if you cannot pick up the item with one hand, the trash company will not haul it away. You can call Champion Services at their customer service number: 703-239-8540. Dominion Energy has a plan that if the refrigerator or freezer (only those appliances) meet the criteria, they will pick it up for free and recycle it. Information can be for on the Dominion Energy website.
